The Isla La Roqueta is an island just off the coast of Las Playas peninsula in Acapulco. This island has three beaches that can get quite crowded later in the day, so go early.A couple of restaurants are on the island and provide a place to get a bite to eat.A hike to the lighthouse is a favourite activity of visitors to the island but the main reason to go to Isla La Roqueta is for snorkelling and diving. Two reefs loaded with tropical fish, Piedra de Elefante and Piedra de Hierbabuena, are just off the coast of the adjacent small island, Isla La Yerbabuena.A highlight is the famous Virgen de Los Mares, a submerged image of the Virgin Mary.
